Bangladesh is a preferred destination for students pursuing medical education abroad. The country has been a hub of Indian students, who flock there for pursuing MBBS in huge numbers across many colleges and universities. Pursuing education abroad in any field is considered a headache, especially for middle class Indian parents. From the higher fees, to passport and visa issues, to finding good colleges and generally genuine agents who actually ensure admission of their ward, the whole process seemed to be hectic and stressful.
However nowadays, with every information available on the internet, things have started to change here. Though Bangladesh was generally not preferred due to lack of knowledge about the country but the students who have pursued education from there, and the organizations which help the students ensure their admission in the foreign universities, have changed the perception of the country and the kind of education that is provided there.
First of all, why is Bangladesh better? The answer will lie in the culture itself. The primary language is Bengali, and the culture of the country is very similar to our very own Bengal. The cuisine, the festivals of India and especially of Bengal is quite popular there. So the amount of familiarity is present for the young men and women who go to Bangladesh. Plus the markets are quite cheap and sell good products, which is also good for the students there.
Secondly, in terms of fees and accommodation costs, Bangladesh is very cheap. From the higher value of Indian rupee to cheap products and public transports, everything is in favor of the Indian students. The hostel charges are quite low compared to India, the mess is good and provides Indian foods almost everyday. The security and infrastructure is good as compared to the charges.
Lastly, the training and the job opportunities are quite big for any student. Since the universities are well recognized in India and all over the world, the job opportunities never dry out and students who become doctors can pursue their job in the country of their choice.
An important fact is associated with the visa and passport process and since India and Bangladesh share borders as well as cordial relations, the process is quite easy and affordable and it happens without much delay.
Overall Bangladesh is a good country to consider MBBS education for Indian students.
